Citizen Teacher
Carly has ten years of experience teaching at the college level. In that time, she has served as teaching assistant or instructor of record for various undergraduate political science courses, as well as courses focused on helping students succeed in their first year of college. You can read more about each of these courses below.
Carly’s teaching philosophy comes from her training as a community organizer and is grounded in the belief that each of her students has their own unique power and knowledge that arises from their lived experience. As an instructor and leader of her classroom community, Carly’s goal is to help her students connect to their power and learn how to leverage it with the power of the other members of their community to create the change they want to see in their own lives and in the world around them. Read Carly’s teaching philosophy and statement on diversity and inclusion.
